Our local Humboldt Chapter of the American Red Cross holds CPR instructor courses once about every 4 months:

 

Course Outline:
 

     1.  Pre-Course Test: You must pass the test with 80% or better.

 

     2.  FIT (Fundamentals of Instructor Training)

            -  The purpose of the FIT course is to introduce instructor's candidates to the history, structure and activities

                of the American Red Cross.

            -  Approximately 4.5 hours, and must be completed prior to taking Instructors course.

            -  No Prerequisites.

 

     3.   Instructors Course: 

            -  The purpose is to train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR

                and AED courses to lay responders.

            -  Prerequisites include: being 16 years or older, possessing a FIT certificate issued within the last year,

                passing the precourse exam.

            -  Approximately 16 hours.

 

     4.   Course Fee: $125.00

            -  Course is good for two calendar years

            -  You must instruct at least one course every two years to keep certificate valid.

 

     5.   Participant Products/Materials (included in course fee):

            -  First Aid/CPR/AED for the Workplace Participant's Workbook     

            -  First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and the Community Participants Manual

            -  Adult CPR/AED Skills Card

            -  Infant and Child Skills Card

            -  First AID Skills Card
